Online gambling platform and services provider Pronet Gaming has named Alex Leese, previously director of emerging markets at William Hill, as its new chief executive.

Leese will assume responsibility for leading Pronet into newly regulated markets around the world, as well as driving awareness about the provider and its various products and services.

The appointment comes shortly after Pronet was sold to a private equity group for an undisclosed sum.

“I am delighted to be joining Pronet Gaming at such an important time for the business as it embarks on global expansion,” Leese said. “Pronet Gaming already has an incredible client base of innovative and exciting operators and I look forward to ensuring they continue to receive a world class product and experience.”

During his three-year spell as director of emerging markets at William, Leese spearheaded the bookmaker’s foray into new jurisdictions.

Prior to this, he served in various managerial roles with the likes of Sportingbet, GVC and Offside Gaming, during a 10-year career in the igaming sector.

“This is a pivotal time for the company given our aim to achieve listed status in the future,” Ioannis Skoulides, chairman of the board at Pronet, said. “Alex’s expertise in international gaming operations will be instrumental as we embark on expanding our global footprint whilst also optimising our product and service offering.”
