Swedish gambling operator Svenska Spel has appointed Carolina Swaffer to the new role of head of agents, customer service and partner services.

Due to officially join the operator on June 1, Swaffer will assume responsibility for Svenska Spel’s work with more than 6,500 agents and partners in Sweden, as well as over 2.1m customers.

Swaffer has spent the majority of her career at Swedish postal service PostNord Sverige, where she currently serves as head of communications services.

Her other roles at PostNord Sverige have included chief of operations, as well as channel manager internet for the Chef Posten.se services, sales manager for the Torget.se business and also sales manager for Postnet.

“I hope among other things to contribute with my long experience of digitisation, omni channel and sales,” Swaffer said, speaking about her new role with the operator.

“Svenska Spel is a strong player that faces an exciting challenge and a fantastic future in the regulated gaming market. This, in combination with the company's focus on sustainability and gaming responsibility, is something that I look forward to working with.”

Patrik Hofbauer, president and CEO, of Svenska Spel, added: “Carolina’s broad experience in business development and sales will be valuable in developing the cooperation with our agents and partners and the service to our customers.

“The focus on the customer meeting is crucial for Svenska Spel to be competitive in the new gaming market, and Carolina has exactly the right expertise.”

The appointment comes after Svenska Spel last month revealed a 5.9% decline in net gaming revenue for the first quarter of 2019, with growth in the new Sport & Casino igaming division offset by struggles in its lottery and land-based gaming units.
