Online gambling content provider Yggdrasil has appointed Mark McGinley, previously CEO of FunFair Games, as chief gaming officer.
Flutter female-focused

McGinley has worked across B2C and B2B gaming for more than 25 years, most recently at Funfair after a spell as director of games studios for Entain.

Prior to this, he was programme director at RNG Foundry, game studio lead for Casumo and studio manager at Odobo.

McGinley also had spells with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Vertex Studios, Blue Monkey Studios, Rockstar and UDS.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining such an ambitious and forward-thinking business as Yggdrasil,” McGinley said. “I see huge potential ahead of us and I’m very confident we can move the business forward to compete at the highest level in the igaming space.”

Business consolidation

The appointment comes as Yggdrasil have also announced a change in its business structure. The provider will consolidate its Product and Programmes and Studio verticals into a single unit, operating under the “Gaming” banner.

This switch, Yggdrasil said, will increase company transparency, streamline processes and offer numerous operational benefits.

This could lead to improved product roadmap quality and development process assurance, more agile content delivery, increased cross-company knowledge sharing and a focus on player and operator needs.

“It is perfect timing for Mark to join and head up our new Gaming unit at Yggdrasil,” chief executive Björn Krantz said. “It will further strengthen our existing innovative and premium Global Roadmap Developments, as well as expand on the strategic product differentiation in tight collaboration with major industry operator partners.

“I welcome Mark to Yggdrasil and to our senior management team. I very much look forward to working together to take our global growth ambitions to the next level.”
