ADI Predictstreet to expand post-World Cup launch
ADI Predictstreet, a Gibraltar-licensed prediction market platform and FIFA’s Official Prediction Market Partner for the 2026 World Cup, has secured regulatory clearance to broaden its offering beyond football.
The company announced on Thursday that it planned to extend its prediction markets to cover a wider array of sectors including other sports, entertainment, culture, weather and selected political events.
Gibraltar’s regulatory authorities have approved ADI Predictstreet’s initial regulatory framework following an extensive review of the platform’s operations.
The endorsement allows the platform to progress with a phased rollout of new, regulated prediction markets beyond the football season.
Dimitrios Psarrakis, chief executive of ADI Predictstreet, highlighted the importance of this development. “Successfully completing this first phase with Gibraltar validates both our platform and our approach to responsible innovation,” he said.
Psarrakis emphasised that while sport served as the ideal entry point for their global launch, the company’s long-term goal is to establish a platform enabling users to forecast a variety of real-world events that influence society.
The platform first launched in Gibraltar, making it the peninsula’s first prediction market.
Support from Gibraltar authorities
Nigel Feetham, KC MP, Gibraltar’s minister for Justice, Trade and Industry, described the regulatory approval as a manifestation of “forward-looking regulation” that fostered new market creation and would attract innovative businesses.
He noted the rapid global recognition brought about by the World Cup partnership and other international collaborations as evidence of Gibraltar’s evolving financial and regulatory ecosystem.
Despite this, Germany’s Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL) launched a formal investigation into the advertising practices of the platform.
The operator does not hold a licence to operate in Germany. The regulator said it had opened a formal review process to determine whether ADI Predictstreet is considered to be providing illegal gambling under its gambling laws.
Its advertising, which has featured prominently across World Cup matches, is also being investigated as a potential violation of Germany’s gambling advertising laws, which prevent unlicensed operators from marketing in the region.
Technology backbone
To increase market liquidity and geographic reach, ADI Predictstreet cited partnerships with well-known firms such as Kalshi, Fanatics Markets (US), Matchbook (UK, Ireland, and Brazil) and DAZN.
The platform operates on “ADI Chain,” described as a compliance-ready institutional blockchain leveraging ZKsync’s Airbender zero-knowledge proof technology.
