Better Collective, the betting data specialist and owner of SmartBets, has appointed former Microsoft executive Klaus Holse to its board.

Holse is the former president of Microsoft for Western Europe and current chief executive of SimCorp, the investment management software solutions provider.

The addition comes soon after Jens Bager stepped in as chairman of the Danish company’s board in August.

The owner of SmartBets, the customisable odds comparison site, said Holse, who serves as chairman of two other companies, brings an “unmatched level of experience that will help drive the tech company forward”.

Jesper Søgaard, chief executive and founder of Better Collective, said: “We are truly excited to have Klaus join our board. Better Collective has always considered digital innovation as one of its core competences, and Klaus’ expertise will help us develop even further.

“His insights will ensure Better Collective further strengthen its position as the leading international affiliate for the iGaming industry.

Founded in 2004, Better Collective powers a range of gambling sites and products, including BettingExpert, the social network for betting which generates more than 125,000 new betting tips per month.

Its portfolio features more than 1,500 websites and products, including DiscoverSlots and bettingexpert LIVE.

Holse said: “The aggregator platforms that Better Collective have already built has truly piqued my interest.

“Considering that the company has received multiple industry awards for their innovative digital products, they are certainly leading the pack within the iGaming industry and I look forward to bring some of my experience to help drive this further.”
