DC sports betting revenue rises in April despite 29.6% handle drop

Consumers wagered a total of $10.7m between William Hill and the DC Lottery’s Gambet brand during the month, compared to $15.2m in March, but revenue was still higher than $1.9m in the previous month.
William Hill, which runs a retail facility at the Capital One Arena and also operates a mobile sportsbook that is available to consumers within two blocks of the venue, led the market again in April.
Players wagered $8.0m with William Hill during the month, 29.8% lower than in March, but gross gaming revenue was 33.3% higher at $1.6m despite this decline.
Gambet, operated by the DC Lottery and powered by Intralot, took $2.7m in sports wagers in April, down 29.0% from $3.8m in March. Players won $2.2m betting with Gambet, which left $535,772 in revenue, down 25.1% month-on-month.
