Independent gaming software developer and operator Gamesys Group has rolled out its Virgin Bet sportsbook in the UK market, through a partnership with SBTech.

Under the arrangement, SBTech, selected following a competitive tender process, will use its platform to power Virgin Bet in the UK, having developed a bespoke front-end interface for the offering.

“We’re excited to launch Virgin Bet into the world’s most competitive sportsbook market,” Gamesys Gibraltar marketing director Simon Mizzi said. “We believe the Virgin brand has the ability to help change the industry for the better and we look forward to giving our customers the experience we feel they deserve.”

SBTech CEO, Richard Carter, added: “This is a significant announcement and achievement for the business which strengthens our UK presence. Gamesys has put its faith in us due to our proven track record of delivering world-class sportsbook and casino platform solutions

“Gamesys is likely to become one of our largest customers over time and we’re delighted to be working with their management team whom we have long admired.”

In January, Gamesys cited the performance of its Virgin Games B2C brand as one of the main reasons behind a 24.4% year-on-year increase in revenue in year ended March 31, 2018. Revenue amounted to £287.2m (€324.9m/$363.1m) for the period.
