Genius Sports extends data deal with Euroleague Basketball
Sports data and technology provider Genius Sports Group has extended its exclusive live data betting deal with Euroleague Basketball, operator of the top two men’s club basketball competitions in Europe.
Under the agreement, Genius Sports will use its courtside technology to capture data and distribute it as a live feed to licensed sportsbook operators around the world via its Betgenius sports betting arm.
The extended deal also marks the launch of Euroleague’s new rights enforcement strategy, which aims to remove unauthorised data collectors operating within its stadiums.
Genius Sports, which has worked in partnership with Euroleague since 2014, uses its data collection system across in 150 countries, covering over 85,000 basketball games a year.
“The extension of our partnership with one of the world’s leading basketball leagues demonstrates our commitment to ensuring security of supply, of the most important content, to our customers,” Genius Sports’ chief commercial officer Jack Davison said.
“Our investment in the growth of live basketball betting is dependent on the capture and distribution of fast, accurate and highly reliable data.
“Furthermore, Euroleague will enjoy a fair return from betting on their competitions while sportsbook operators and their customers will gain a crucial advantage through the quality of their products.”
