Stats-owned digital sports media and content provider Perform Group has extended a deal to continue as the exclusive betting rights partner for the British Basketball League (BBL).

Terms of the agreement were undisclosed, but it was confirmed that the deal will cover Perform’s Watch&Bet live streaming service and RunningBall fast data offering.

The extension builds on an existing partnership, under which Perform streamed live coverage of 242 BBL games on Live Basketball TV around the world, as well as 32 games on the BBC Sport website.

“The income generated by this partnership will underpin the financial security of the BBL,” BBL commercial director, Bob Hope, said.

“It will give us the stability we require to expand our presence in the UK sporting market and beyond even further, as well as enable us to forge new partnerships in a range of commercial sectors.”

Alex Rice, chief rights officer at Perform, added: “We are excited about the BBL plans and are looking forward to continuing as the exclusive betting rights partner.”
