Daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator PlayON has entered into a partnership with golf’s European Tour.

Under the agreement, PlayON has developed and launched an official DFS game for the European Tour, which will enable fans to compete against each other in one-on-one and multiplayer contests each day.

Supporters can select seven players for each round of play in European Tour tournaments, with each team’s performance based on their featured players on that day.

In accordance with the European Tour’s Integrity Programme, European Tour members and related personnel, caddies and staff are not allowed to take part in the DFS contests.

“Daily Fantasy games are becoming increasingly popular in sport, offering a more immersive gaming experience for fans, and we believe this format will prove to be a big hit with our fans over the coming weeks and months,” the European Tour’s head of media, digital and strategy, Rufus Hack, said.

Killian Jones, founder and chief executive of PlayON, added: “The addition of golf games to our existing daily fantasy football, basketball and cricket games will give PlayON customers a new and exciting way to play each day.

“Daily Fantasy European Tour Games will bring added entertainment to watching live golf and we look forward to working closely with the European Tour to deliver a great daily fantasy experience to golf fans over the coming years.”
