Tote betting solutions provider, Sportech has signed a new agreement with Racecourse Media Group (RMG), to provide commingling pool betting services through its European Quantum Data and Operations Centre.

The deal will see RMG, which is the holding company responsible for 34 racecourse shareholders in the United Kingdom, use Sportech’s software to facilitate pool commingling between racecourses in the UK and Ireland, and RMG’s global partners.

“We are delighted to extend our partnership with our friends at Sportech,” RMG commercial director Nick Mills said.

“This new agreement will further bolster RMG’s reputation at delivering the best possible global reach for our shareholder racecourses, while at the same time, significantly growing wagering opportunities on their horseracing around the world.”

Similarly, Sportech’s vice president of sales and business development EMEA, Bruno Gay, stated the supplier was pleased to extend its relationship and help RMG strengthen and expand their reach in international markets.

“Reliable solutions for commingling are critically important as racing and betting operators adjust their strategies to include expanded distribution and Sportech are proud to be at the forefront of this trend with partners like RMG,” Gay said.

Horse racing in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales has returned behind closed doors in June, following a period of inactivity caused by the novel coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic.
