Sportech announces new product and commerical hires

| By Daniel O'Boyle
Betting technology supplier Sportech has poached a pair of product and user experience specialists from Sportpesa, and a new commercial manager from LeoVegas' Rocket X subsidiary enhance its product and user experience and bolster its commerical operations.

Betting technology supplier Sportech has hired Paul Rietdyke, Leon Hosking and Chris Rogers, to serve as head of product user experience and design, product manager and commercial manager, respectively.

Rietdyke joins Sportech from online music distribution company Ditto Music, where he was head of user experience (UX) and design. Before this, he had served as lead UX designer at Sportpesa, and head of UX and design at marketing firm The Lead Agency.

Rietdyke’s work there included developing UX for Premier League football clubs Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool, as well as the Saudi Football League.

Hosking will serve as product manager, working on Sportech’s product development initiatives. Prior to joining Sportech, Hoskings was an operations and trading specialist for Sportpesa,  where he was responsible for the offerings of the UK, Italian and dot.com websites. Hosking also co-founded Appollo Bet in 2011 and served as a director of the operator until 2017, and previously worked for Totesport, Sky Bet and Coral.

Chris Rogers, meanwhile, will join Sportech as a commercial manager from the LeoVegas Group’s Rocket X, where he has worked as sportsbook manager since July 2018. He had also served as head of golf trading at Betfred from between 2013 and 2014, and as a golf trader for Coral in 2013.

The hires come after Sportech revealed in November that it is on track to beat its earnings forecasts for the year, with efforts to streamline the business taken throughout 2019 paying off.

In July the business overhauled its product team, with Andrew Lindley, founder of the Lot.to business Sportech acquired in February 2018, named group chief operating officer and Raj Sanjanwala promoted to chief technology officer.
