Sportium, the Spanish joint venture between Ladbrokes and CIRSA, has agreed a deal with the Arena Racing Company (ARC) to launch the European Racing Channel across its retail network.

Under the agreement, Sportium will roll out the European Racing Channel and accompanying Ultimate Live Greyhound Channel at more than 3,000 locations.

Sportium customers will now have access to live coverage from an additional 20 high-level racecourses in the UK, more than 50 Australian racetracks and eight new South African racecourses.

The operator already offers coverage of various horse and greyhound races via its existing deals with Hipo and Sports Betting Iberia and PMU.

“We are already a reference in the racing markets and thanks to this new deal with ARC, we can present a powerful offering in all our terminals,” Sportium CEO Alberto Eljarrat said.

Antony Hopkins, director of international markets at ARC, added: “This deal is in line with ARC’s objective of providing high quality betting content to our clients in international territories, as well as to our national market.”

ARC’s European Racing Channel broadcasts live coverage of more than 45,000 events each year from horse racing venues and greyhound tracks across the UK, South Africa, Australia and North America.

The Ultimate Live Greyhound Channel offers greyhound races from the UK, Australia and North America, broadcasting some 40,000 live events each year.
