William Hill names Prior as chief financial officer

William Hill has appointed Ruth Prior as its new chief financial officer.

Prior will later this year join the bookmaker from payments processing solutions provider Worldpay, where she currently serves as chief operating officer and was previously deputy chief financial officer.

Before her time with Worldpay, Prior had a spell as group chief financial officer at EMI Group and also worked with private equity firm Terra Firma Capital Partners as a finance director.

“I am excited to be joining William Hill at a time when there are clear opportunities both to grow the business inside the UK and to expand our position on the international stage,” said Prior.

“I'm looking forward to working with the team to deliver the digital expertise, operational efficiencies and technology platform that will underpin the group's further growth.”

Philip Bowcock, chief executive of William Hill, added: “Ruth is a strong addition to the William Hill board and executive team.

“Her experience in digital operations, online payments and finance is all highly relevant to our strategic priorities to deliver an even better customer experience and faster growth.”
