Aspire Global has appointed Ziv Shtaeinberg to the newly created role of chief technology officer.

Shtaeinberg will lead the iGaming platform provider’s technology team from its office in Kiev, Ukraine.

The Israeli national has experience in technology development, on-premises software and cloud computing from similar roles at Microsoft and payment processor SafeCharge.

“Shtaeinberg will be adding valuable knowledge and experience to Aspire Global and we wish him the best of luck in his new role,” Aspire Global chief executive Tsachi Maimon said.

Meanwhile, Aspire Global has also revealed it will soon announce a new chief product officer to replace Galit Shani, who has stepped down as vice-president of product at the company.

Shani spent more than 10 years with the company but has opted to leave in order to pursue new challenges.

The appointment comes after Aspire Global was  hit with the news that its AG Communications Ltd subsidiary could face serious sanctions in Sweden earlier this week. The country's gambling regulator Spelinspektionen accused the white label service provider of allowing people that have signed up to the regulator’s self-exclusion scheme to continue accessing gambling sites.

AG Communications, along with Genesis Global Ltd, have until today (January 10) to provide an adequate explanation as to why they have failed to comply with the requirements of the self-exclusion scheme or risk punishment.

More than 10,000 people have signed up to the Spelpaus.se initiative, which was introduced in Sweden to coincide with re-regulation of the online betting and gaming market on New Year’s Day.
