New UK Prime Minister Theresa May has appointed Karen Bradley as Culture Secretary.

New UK Prime Minister Theresa May has appointed Karen Bradley as Culture Secretary.

Bradley, one of a series of major appointments in the past few days, will take over from John Whittingdale as head of the department whose remit includes the gambling industry.

She has served as MP for Staffordshire Moorlands since May 2014, and became a Home Office minister in 2014.

Prior to her time in politics, Bradley spent 20 years working in business and held roles with firms such as KPMG and Deloitte & Touche.
