Cherry AB subsidiary ComeOn has appointed Hampus Eriksson, previously of NetEnt, as its new chief product officer.

Eriksson joins the gaming operator having most recently served as director of product and services at casino games developer NetEnt.

Prior to his time at NetEnt, Eriksson spent over four years with operator Evoke Gaming, owner of the RedBet brand that has since been acquired by MRG Group, first as head of central marketing before going on to serve as acting CEO and then chief product officer.

In addition, he spent over three years with GTECH, prior to its takeover by IGT, first serving as poker officer and then gaming network manager.

“I have followed ComeOn’s journey for several years and am impressed with how well they have succeeded with their brands in highly competitive markets,” Eriksson said.

“At the same time, I perceive great potential and major development opportunities on the product side, so it will be very exciting to be part of ComeOn’s continued success.”

ComeOn CEO, Lahcene Merzoug, added: “With Hampus Eriksson on the management team, we are further strengthening our product focus, which is fantastic both for us and our customers.”

The appointment comes after Cherry last month reported a 44% year-on-year increase in revenue for 2018, due in part to the performance of its Come On and Cherry Casino brands.

Full-year revenue amounted to SEK3.24bn (£269.0m/€310.3m/$353.3m), with revenue from online gaming accounting for 79% of this total.
