Renato Ascoli, chief executive IGT North America/Interactive (Double Down Casino), speaks to Fantini Research during the G2E trade show in Las Vegas about why the company introduced new business processes and how it has benefited from this re-evaluation of its mode of operation.
Ascoli says IGT’s focus has been on enhancing the player experience though the mobile platform – using the technology to enable two-way interaction between players and machines on the gaming floor.
The company has been perfecting its technology platform or “layer” to enable it to target younger players, those who want to fund their accounts with mobile payments or if the casino floor wants to contact them with new game and product generations offers.
The strategy is to have a truly interactive “cardless concept, a real ticket-in, ticket-out system, where players are recognised by the floor and can be contacted”, with IGT wanting to target younger generations to build on the bridge provided by the mobile platform and then expand the offering to include virtual reality, skill-based games or daily fantasy sports.
