Ladbrokes Coral Group has appointed Jason Scott as chief executive of Ladbrokes Australia on a permanent basis.

Scott has served as interim chief executive of the business since February of this year, following the departure of Dean Shannon.

The company said Scott has been an “integral part” of its Australian management team, having helped establish the Bookmaker.com.au business, which Ladbrokes purchased in 2013.

Scott held the role of trading director during his time with Ladbrokes Australia, prior to his spell as interim chief executive.

“Leading the Australian team has been a real privilege and I am delighted to be taking it forward on a permanent basis,” Scott said.

“The last six months have seen us continue to build and grow the business and the whole team is focused on further growth.

“We will stick to our principles of putting the customer first and being the best at offering them value and products that they love; it is the DNA of the business and there is no point in breaking a winning combination.”

Jim Mullen, chief executive of Ladbrokes Coral Group, added: “Jason has fitted seamlessly into the chief executive role and Ladbrokes Australia has continued to show strong momentum and financial performance under his leadership.

“The appointment of Jason on a permanent basis is just reward for his commitment and hard work.

“He has the history of the business in his blood, he understands the Australian market and its regulatory agenda and has a clear vision for what he wants the business to achieve.”
