Nektan has appointed Leigh Nissim, formerly of International Game Technology (IGT), as its new chief executive.

Nissim will take on his new role at Nektan in late July and replace Gary Shaw, who had been serving as interim chief executive of the company since January.

Shaw was appointed to the position on a temporary basis after Nektan late last year announced that David Sparks would be leaving the company.

Upon Nissim taking on his new role, Shaw will become director of strategy at the firm.

Confirmation of Nissim’s appointment comes after Nektan last month revealed “significant” year-on-year financial growth for the first quarter of the year.
