Yggdrasil Gaming to form Swedish parent company
Yggdrasil Gaming has announced that it is to establish a new parent company and expand its office in Sweden.
The parent company will sit at the top of Yggdrasil’s existing corporate structure and enhance its presence in the Swedish capital of Stockholm.
Yggdrasil will now hire new staff for the expanded Stockholm office, with the company to focus on experienced graphics teams based in the city.
Fredrik Elmqvist, chief executive of Yggdrasil, said: “We are hugely excited to be establishing a new epicentre for Yggdrasil in Stockholm, the hometown of many of our team and a key centre of igaming excellence, and we will now start recruiting.
“With the maturity and consolidation of the industry in Stockholm, it is now the right time for Yggdrasil to enter the stage and provide something fresh.
“Yggdrasil has been acting as an independent company since inception; our rapid progress means it is important we create a corporate structure that will enhance our growth potential in the future, and aid our mission of becoming the best games supplier in the industry.”
Meanwhile, Yggdrasil has added new title ‘Super Heroes’ to its selection of slot games.
The 5×3 title is based in an apocalyptic setting, with six super heroes, each holding a super power, such as wild reels and mystery wins, appearing at random during spins.
During free spins, heroes are triggered on each spin, with their powers growing stronger each time.
As part of the launch, Yggdrasil has commissioned a special comic book that tells the story of the heroes and outlines their special powers, while the company will also host a €25,000 ($27,200) network tournament.
The contest, which started yesterday (Wednesday) and runs until November 6, will feature the firm’s game leaderboard, in-play raffle and re-watch tools.
Jonas Strandman, head of gaming at Yggdrasil, said: “The idea behind Super Heroes was to create a blockbuster slots title with graphics and animations that really make the player feel they are a part of the game.
“We are rolling out the red carpet for this launch, with a special comic book and network campaign tournament that will get players as excited about this new slot as we are.”
