Cherry-owned online gaming solutions provider Yggdrasil has established a new publishing division with the aim of providing customers with the tools to build their own B2B gaming business.

As part of the new strategic approach, Yggdrasil will franchise its entire business, including its current and future content portfolio, as well as its gamification and advanced platform technology and Game Adaption Tools and Interface (GATI) product.

Yggdrasil said this will enable partners to create their own, end-to-end igaming offering, while future customers will have the option to license any elements of Yggdrasil’s gaming eco-system with all technology, functions.

The Yggdrasil Publishing segment will comprise YG Franchise for licensing the supplier's gaming platform, as well as YG Masters, through which it will provide game development and distribution resources, and YG Game IP, through which it will license games.

NetEnt veteran Björn Krantz, who has been appointed as head of publishing to head up the new segment, said: “We are really excited to showcase our new Publishing business which will give operators, studios and suppliers all the tools, tech and knowledge to take control of their content production and distribution and create unique player experiences.

“This is a ground-breaking global licensing business that significantly changes our and the industry’s approach to content creation, publishing and distribution,” Krantz explained. “In a very short space of time we have become well-known for our highly innovative online gaming content, platform and software solutions but we are now taking this to another level altogether.”
