Zeal Network has confirmed that Peter Steiner is to succeed Andreas de Maizière as chairman of its supervisory board.

Steiner will assume his new role in June of this year, following the decision by de Maizière to step down after six years as chairman.

Having served as a member of Zeal’s supervisory board and chairman of the audit committee since 2013, Steiner is also chairman of the board at Xella International SA and member of the board and chairman of the audit committee of Clariant AG.

Helmut Becker, chief executive of Zeal, said: “On behalf of the management board, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for Andreas de Maizière's leadership as chairman of the supervisory board.

“With his outstanding experience and expertise, he has been an important sparring partner for the management team during his tenure.

“We look forward to continuing this excellent cooperation with our future chairman, Peter Steiner.”
