NetEnt has entered into a licensing deal with Merkur Gaming Italia, a subsidiary of German gaming machine producer Gauselmann.

The agreement will enable NetEnt to distribute gaming content across the Italian Comma 6a retail market.

Merkur has approximately 3,000 machines installed in the country, although the deal will allow NetEnt to distribute games to machines owned by other firms.

The deal will initially cover NetEnt titles ‘Starburst’ and ‘Eggomatic’, which are both due to launch by the first quarter of 2017.

“I’m delighted to announce that NetEnt games content will soon be available in our games portfolio of Italian 6a machines and I’m confident that players will be amazed by the quality of these games,” Merkur Gaming Italia managing director Roberto Migliozzi said.

Enrico Bradamante, chief of European market operations and managing director of NetEnt Malta, added: “This partnership combines our vast online gaming experience and award-winning digital games with one of the world leaders in the land-based gaming machine industry.”
