Online gambling operator 188Bet has agreed a deal to become an official sponsor of the Formula 1 motor-racing championship in Asia.

Brokered by Interregional Sports Group (ISG), the lead sponsorship agency for F1, the agreement establishes 188Bet as an official Asia sponsor of the series.

188Bet will feature exclusively throughout the Asian broadcast market during each F1 season through to the 2024 campaign.

The operator’s branding will appear on virtual trackside advertising for races that are broadcast, together with bespoke activation and integration across F1’s various digital and social platforms.

In addition, 188Bet will have exclusive ownership of F1 Play, a predictor app for the Asia sports betting market, and receive official F1 betting data supplied by Sportradar.

The deal comes after 188Bet in March of last year announced that it was to halt all operations in the UK and Ireland, citing a high level of competition across the markets.

At the time, Annatar Limited, 188Bet’s parent company, said that the move was a “commercial decision in a very competitive marketplace”. 188Bet launched in the UK back in 2006.
