W88 nets shirt sponsorship deal with Aston Villa
Asian betting and gaming operator W88 has agreed a deal to become the main shirt sponsor for newly promoted English Premier League football club Aston Villa.
The agreement will cover the 2019-20 season, with W88 branding to feature on the front of the team’s playing jersey and first-team training wear.
Nicola Ibbetson, chief commercial officer at Aston Villa, said the deal represents a record partnership for the club, which won promotion to the Premier League after beating Derby County 2-1 in last month’s play-off final.
“This is a record-breaking commercial partnership for the club, our promotion to the Premier League offers our club partners a global platform to reach our worldwide fan base.”
W88 had a similar deal in place with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the 2018-19 season, but the Premier League club this week announced that it had ended the relationship in order begin a new partnership with ManBetX.
“We look forward to engaging with the fans, players and club management in the coming months,” W88 business development manager Hilly Ehrlich said. “W88 is a renowned online gaming brand with a significant member base.
“The brand represents trust and integrity with sports, namely soccer, at its core.”
