Online boosts struggling New Jersey market in January

New Jersey reported a 16.7% year-on-year increase in online gaming win in the month of January, despite revenue from its land-based market dropping 12.6%.
Figures from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) show that online gaming win totalled $22m (€17.6m) last month in the US state, compared to $18.8m in January 2017.
However, casino win for the month fell from $185.9m in January of last year to $162.4m.
Slot machine win dropped 11.4% year-on-year to $109.6m, while table game win was also down 15.1% from $62.2m to $52.8m.
Total gaming win for January amounted to $184.3m, down 9.9% on the $204.7m posted in the opening month of 2017, while New Jersey was able to collect $15.2m in gaming taxes during the month.
