Playtech, DLA Piper legal chiefs join Wiggin

Media and technology law firm Wiggin has appointed two new partners to its betting and gaming practice.

Media and technology law firm Wiggin has appointed two new partners to its betting and gaming practice.

David McLeish, general counsel and group head of legal at Playtech, and Stephen Ketteley, a partner and head of the gambling practice at DLA Piper, will both join the Wiggin division.

Ketteley began his new role at on January 1 and brings with him associate Chris Elliott, who will join the firm on January 19.

McLeish will not take up his new position at Wiggin until February 1.

“Wiggin has been on an incredible journey these past five years; we are now ready for our next phase, which will see us develop our technology and IP offerings,” Wiggin chief executive John Banister said.

“These appointments signal our commitment to invest in our growth and deepen our sector knowledge and expertise.”

Jason Chess, a partner at Wiggin and head of the betting and gaming practice, added: “David and Stephen bring with them unequalled expertise and knowledge of the industry and I very much look forward to working with them to guide our respective clients through all the changes that the industry will face.”
