William Hill has joined forces with Caesars Entertainment to launch a pari-mutuel simulcast sports betting wagering service at the Horseshoe Council Bluffs Casino in Iowa, US.

Under the arrangement, which will be overseen by the bookmaker’s US division, punters at the casino will be able to access the William Hill Race Book to place wagers on major US thoroughbred, harness and greyhound races.

The simulcasting area will be placed adjacent to the main casino floor and is to include a state-of-the-art sports bar and video wall.

Pending regulatory approval and the construction schedule, the race book will open in time for the 2017 Kentucky Derby meeting, which takes place from May 5-6.

“We are excited to expand into Iowa and proud to partner with Caesars Entertainment to bring back pari-mutuel simulcast wagering to the Horseshoe Council Bluffs Casino,” William Hill US chief executive Joe Asher said.

Bo Guidry, senior vice-president and general manager of Horseshoe Council Bluffs, added: “William Hill has an excellent reputation and we are excited to welcome them to Iowa and partner to bring a new amenity that will bring even more energy to the Horseshoe Casino floor.”
