Bookmaker William Hill will begin operating the sportsbook at M Resort Spa Casino in Nevada after expanding its existing partnership with casino and racetrack operator Penn National Gaming,

Subject to regulatory approvals, William Hill will use its wagering technology to run both the racebook and sportsbook at the venue in Henderson, near to the US gambling haven of Las Vegas.

William Hill and Penn National plan to launch the sports betting services in May, with consumers to have access to land-based betting facilities, as well as William Hill’s mobile sports betting app and LIVE InPlay wagering menu.

Should the launch receive the standard regulatory approvals, the roll-out would extend William Hill’s presence in Nevada to a total of 115 sportsbooks.

“We are excited to expand our partnership with our friends at Penn National to operate the sports book at The M,” William Hill US chief executive, Joe Asher, said.

“It is a fabulous property, serving the Henderson and Southern Highlands areas, as well as guests from out of town, and we look forward to bringing our market-leading product to these customers.”

William Hill began working with Penn National in August of last year, through a partnership designed to capitalise on sports betting opportunities across the US.

At present, William Hill provides sports betting technology and risk management services to Penn National properties in Mississippi, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Ameet Patel, senior vice-president of regional operations for Penn National, added: “We are delighted to be teaming up with William Hill at M Resort. We have an active sports book at M Resort and we think our guests will benefit greatly from William Hill’s expertise.”
