FanDuel launches new sportsbook in WV with Scientific Games

| By Robert Fletcher
FanDuel Group has relaunched its West Virginia online sportsbook with Scientific Games’ OpenBet, the first state to launch on the platform after parent company Flutter announced plans to migrate the brand to the technology.

FanDuel has operated a sportsbook in West Virginia since 2019, but the revamped offering is powered by  Scientific Games, rather than International Game Technology (IGT).

OpenBet is also used to power Flutter’s sports betting platforms for brands in other regions, including Betfair, Sky Bet and Paddy Power in Europe, as well as Sportsbet in Australia.

The relaunch comes after Flutter in August announced that upon its integration of The Stars Group business, it would migrate all sports betting brands to the OpenBet solution powering its Paddy Power Betfair division.

FanDuel had previously been using IGT’s PlaySports solution for betting, and GAN for online casino.
