The Delaware Lottery has said that the US state was able to generate $3 million (€2.8 million) in online gambling revenue last year, 62% more than in 2015.

The amount represents the highest internet gaming revenue haul since the state legalised online gambling in 2013.

The full-year total was boosted by an impressive performance in December, with the $300,000 generated 29% up on the same month of the previous year and the highest monthly revenue total since August.

Delaware remains just one of three states in the US to have legalised some form of online gaming, alongside Nevada and New Jersey.

Earlier this month, New Jersey revealed that a record haul in December helped the state to a yearly online gaming revenue high of $196.7 million.
