Online gambling operator Kindred Group has reported that 4.3% of total revenue generated in the second quarter of its 2021 financial year came from harmful gambling.

The amount of revenue derived from harmful gambling was up from 3.9% in Q1, but level with 4.3% in the fourth quarter of 2020.

However, the operator did note that it achieved an improvement effect after interventions figure of 76.9% in Q2, up from 76.6% in the first quarter and 75.7% in Q4 of last year.

In February, Kindred announced it was to start publishing the share of revenue derived from harmful gambling as part of its ‘Journey towards zero’.

Kindred has set a target of reaching 0% of revenue from harmful gambling by the end of 2023, with these figures to be published on a quarterly basis.

“During the past quarter we have continued to see a positive and constructive dialogue across the industry in terms of achieving a more sustainable gambling market,” Kindred chief executive Henrik Tjärnström said. “Ensuring that the discussion continues to take place, and that it is fact-based, is vital if we are to achieve the ambition we have set.

“Despite our revenue increasing slightly this quarter, which is an expected fluctuation, we remain dedicated and focused on our journey towards zero.”
