SportPesa adds Southampton to football portfolio

SportPesa has expanded its portfolio of professional football club partnerships by entering a deal with English Premier League side Southampton.

Under the three-season agreement, which runs from 2016-17 until 2018-19, SportPesa will serve as the team’s official betting partner.

Southampton will support the development of young football players in the firm’s native Kenya by sending staff to the country, with young Kenyan players also visiting the club’s Staplewood Campus facility.

In addition, the club will offer advice and mentoring support across business areas such as stadium operations, marketing, media and business management.

“This partnership will allow the club to continue to build its partner portfolio for commercial success on an international scale,” Southampton chief executive Gareth Rogers said.
