Chase will now serve as an independent director on the GLPI board, with her appointment effective immediately. She will also join the board’s Nominating and Corporate Governance committee.

Chase is both the founder and CEO of entertainment production business Martin Chase Productions. The company has produced several films, grossing over $500.0m (£400.0m/€466.3m) at the box office, as well as various television series.

Among the films produced by Martin Chase Productions is The Princess Diaries, starring Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews. The company also produced television series The Equalizer.

Prior to this, Chase worked as a producer at Brown House Productions, Whitney Houston’s film and television company. She was also a producer at Mundy Lane Entertainment, the television and film company founded by Denzel Washington.

In addition, Chase is a two-time Tony Award winner, Peabody Award winner and three-time Emmy nominee.

Before moving into the entertainment industry, Chase worked as a lawyer across several practices.

GLPI CEO welcomes Chase’s “extensive” experience

Commenting on the appointment, GLPI chairman and CEO Peter Carlino says Chase will be a valuable addition to the board. With Chase joining, the GLPI board now features a total of eight directors.

“I am delighted to welcome Debra to our board,” Carlino said. “We believe her extensive entertainment industry experience, impressive legal background and broad board experience across public companies and the arts will serve GLPI well as we continue to drive growth in shareholder value.

“She brings a wealth of knowledge to GLPI. We believe this is a perfect complement to the existing strengths of the board. I am confident that she will help expand the diverse set of viewpoints that ultimately shape our mission.”

Aside from leading Martin Chase Productions, Chase also serves on the boards of several other businesses. These include B&G Foods, Bridge Investment Group Holdings and Second Stage Theatre in Manhattan.
