Sports betting and gaming operator SKS365 has appointed Luca Grisci as its new director of retail as part of an effort to enhance its land-based operations.

Grisci joins SKS365, the operator behind the Italy-facing PlanetWin365 brand, from Stanleybet, where had been serving as group managing director since September 2017.

During his near six-year spell with Stanleybet, Grisci also spent time as chief operations officer, director of development, director of operations for Southern Europe and sales manager.

Prior to this, Grisci held a number of senior roles with Italian operator Sisal, including regional trustee, area manger and assistant district manager.

“I am enthusiastic and very motivated by the role the company has given to me through this appointment,” Grisci said of his new role at SKS365.

“This is an important challenge for me and for the entire team, in particular in this moment where, who is going to adapt firstly to the future of the market, would have a competitive advantage to become a referral player for customers and for whole betting sector,”

In his new role Grisci will report into SKS365 chief commercial officer Troy Cox. Commenting on the appointment, Cox said: “It’s an exciting time for SKS365 to have such a key player to join our team.

“Luca’s enthusiasm and knowledge will help take Planetwin365 [to number one in retail].”

The appointment comes after SKS365 in January announced a number of senior departures, including Ian McLoughlin stepping down as CEO. General counsel Angela Gemma and group financial controller Aaron Meli also left their roles.

Shortly after, SKS365 announced that chief marketing officer Francesco Gaziano, chief product and technology officer Jim Parkins, chief people officer Brian Dean and chief commercial officer Troy Cox would take on additional responsibilities.
