Playtech Sports makes trio of senior management appointments

Playtech Sports has enhanced its senior management team in order to support a series of large-scale Playtech ONE projects and recent acquisitions.

Richard Andrew has joined the sports-focused arm of Playtech as chief operating officer, with Danny Angus to take on the role of chief technical officer and Eoin Redmond serving as sportsbook product director.

Andrew most recently worked at The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Angus will join the firm from OpenBet, while Redmond will leave his role as lead product manager exchange and sportsbook at Betfair to take up his new position at Playtech.

In addition, Peter Greberg has been appointed as technical director and will head up the division’s operations in Malmo, Sweden.

Mor Weizer, chief executive of Playtech, said: “The three appointments we have made align with our strategic vision for Playtech Sports and our Playtech ONE technology of creating a simple and intuitive experience for customers as well as creating an opportunity to extend beyond online and mobile and into further retail opportunities.”

Playtech has also confirmed that Ian Chuter, who joined last year as a strategic advisor, will leave the firm to take on the role of chief operating officer digital at the new Ladbrokes-Coral merged business.

“Ian has done a first-class job during his time with us and delivered exactly what we asked; a stronger, consolidated sports business that is capable of delivering the best Omni-channel technology offering with the industry’s best talent on board to deliver and implement this across large-scale projects,” Weizer said.

“On behalf of the Playtech Group management team I would like to thank Ian for his significant contribution over the last 12 months and look forward to continuing to work with him as we continue to deliver excellent results for both Ladbrokes and Coral.”
