“The World Cup means growth. For the following four years you capitalise on the exposure and newcomers” – Codere Online CMO
Alberto Telias, CMO of Codere Online, caught up with iGB ahead of the tournament.
He explains how staging the World Cup in one of Codere’s five core markets (Mexico) provides huge potential for the operator’s growth, especially given that its other four core markets (Panama, Colombia, Argentina and Spain) also have national teams that have qualified for the tournament.
“For the first time in our operation, the five countries where we have an operation running are participating in the World Cup,” he told us. “This means five campaigns to be delivered, five products to be adopted, five of everything pushed out through the year.”
Telias also touched upon curated gamification for first-time bettors, how Codere have already priced in tax and regulatory headwinds in Mexico and Colombia, and why post-World Cup reactivation is where the long-term value is really won or lost.
